Data is only ever retrospectively retrieved and is never monitored ‘live’. This is undertaken either reactively upon request or proactively as a daily safety audit.
Reactive Reviewing
PRISM supports investigations by enabling rapid access to footage related to unwitnessed falls, unexplained injuries, and allegations against care team members. All footage requests are fulfilled via a secure file-sharing system, typically with same day results, ensuring timely and confidential support for incident reviews.
Proactive Sampling
In Consented Private Spaces, PRISM conducts daily scheduled sampling of recorded footage with a focus on resident safety and care team interactions. This includes audits of overnight welfare checks and proportionate sampling – equating to just 0.35% of an individual resident’s lived time – ensuring privacy is respected while maintaining thorough resident safety oversight.
For Communal Areas, PRISM also samples footage of key “target activities” to safeguard residents during everyday routine care moments. These activities include medications administration, moving & handling practices, assisted mealtimes and overnight welfare checks & pressure care repositioning. The list of target activities is reviewed and updated monthly by the facility’s management team to ensure relevance and responsiveness to emerging needs.
